Karnataka becomes the first Indian state to approve e-vehicle policy

  1. Karnataka state cabinet approved the Karnataka Electric Vehicle and Energy Storage Policy to encourage production of electric vehicles to reduce pollution, promote research & development (R&D) of electric mobility.
  2. Now, Karnataka has become the first Indian state to have an electric vehicle policy.
  3. The state expects to create employment for 55,000 people through the policy.
